Avatar Fighting Game

For my Data Structures and Algorithms class this week, we designed and created our own simulation. I worked with Matthew Levine (Colby College) and Victoria Tisdale (Colby College) to make a fighting game based on the characters from the Nickelodeon TV show, “Avatar the Last Airbender.” For the design, we took inspiration from fighting games like Mortal Kombat(Midway Games) and Super Smash Bros(Nintendo). I was responsible for designing and creating the user interface, character controls, and organizing visuals for the game. I also helped to test and debug. We wrote the game in java and implemented our own data structures.

There are four levels. Aang starts with air bending powers. After an enemy is defeated in each level, he gains an additional element (Water, Earth, Fire) and can use regular and special attacks of those elements.

The Game

Level 1: Avatar vs. Sokka

Level 2: Avatar vs. Katara

Level 3: Avatar vs. Toph

Level 4: Avatar vs. Zuko
